Woodplast introduces a new element of the Legro decking system — the ST140 profile, designed to solve two key tasks: creating a clean deck edge and forming steps.
Why a Separate Profile Was Needed
When a standard decking board is used as the outer edge, a typical problem arises — the installation groove remains visible. To cover it, an angle trim or overlay profile is usually used.
This solution:
- adds an extra element to the structure,
- creates a visible joint,
- requires additional fasteners,
- complicates the installation process.
The situation is similar when building steps: to create the front edge, the board usually needs to be milled or finished with a corner profile.
These operations increase labor intensity and do not always ensure a perfectly clean edge geometry.
Structural Solution
LEGRO ST140 is a profile without an outer mounting groove on the front side.
It is designed for:
- finishing the deck perimeter,
- forming steps without additional overlay elements.
Installation is carried out using a finishing (starter) clip from below, which ensures hidden fastening and a clean front surface without visible screws.
Technical Advantages
Using the ST140 profile allows you to:
- eliminate the need for corner trims,
- avoid on-site milling of decking boards,
- maintain a continuous pattern and texture of the decking surface,
- reduce the number of installation operations,
- achieve clean and precise edge geometry.
The profile integrates into the existing Legro decking system and does not require any changes to the standard installation scheme.
Applications
- deck perimeter finishing;
- front edge of steps;
- exposed front sections of decking.
Conclusion
LEGRO ST140 is an engineered addition to the Legro decking system that allows installers to finish deck edges without compromising aesthetics or complicating the installation process.
The new profile is already available for order as part of the Legro system.
